Two books in one, because my thoughts on each are too minimal for separate posts:
Peace is Every Step by Thich Nhat Nahn
This one was a find from the local used bookstore. I was looking for something else and found this one instead. It mostly deals with mindfulness – the actual Buddhist kind, not the sort appropriated by the West as a part of consumer capitalism. Towards the end of the book are the 14 Precepts of Engaged Buddhism, which I'd only ever seen devoid of context.
The Zen Teaching of Bodhidharma, translated by Red Pine
This translation is bilingual; the Chinese is on the left page while the English is on the right. It contains an introduction and three sermons. I don't think I got too much out of this, but that's mostly because this is already the kind of Buddhism I practice.
