While I haven't been in the mood for gaming all year, there is one game I keep booting up every week or so: Minecraft.
I can play in windowed mode, so it's easy for me to click over to a browser and look something up, or check my email. I can play in peaceful mode – and I usually do, because I hate suddenly getting shot by skeletons or a creeper blowing up my house. I can dig a giant quarry, or build a giant farm, and it takes very little of my processing ability. I turn my brain off and do things on autopilot.
Uh, yeah…I think I may be using Minecraft to dissociate. That would explain why I haven't been able to finish other video games. I have to actually use my brain to play them, rather than turn it off.
